There may be some changes in the method or schedules of entrance examination from the aspect of preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). It will be updated on the Graduate School website as new information comes in.

Before starting the application process, you are required to first contact the prospective supervisor of your selected research field in order to receive his or her pre-approval of your intention to apply for the master's program, and then fill out his or her name on the application forms. (Please refer to the list of faculty members at the end of the guidelines.) You may not submit two or more applications to the graduate school at the same time. For details, see the guidelines.

Admission Guidelines

Eligible applicant: Japanese/non-Japanese (expected) graduate of university in/outside Japan who live in/outside Japan.
The detailed information on application qualification should be checked in the guidelines.
You may request the Admission Guidelines and Application Forms (paper medium) on the TELEMAIL website (Japanese version available) from mid-May.

Application Forms

1.Application Form, Admission Ticket for Examination and Photo ID Card-A or B

You should use the prescribed forms attached to the guidelines (booklet, paper medium) for application submission. You cannot submit the downloaded forms.

2.Application Form-C and D

You should use the prescribed forms attached to the guidelines (booklet, paper medium) for application submission. However, the following forms may be downloadable to print out for your convenience.

3.Application Form-F

Only the applicants who apply for exemption from entrance examination to the Department of Mechanical Engineering may download and prepare for submission.

How to Submit Application Materials

You may read the admission guidelines to prepare and submit us all the application materials in person.
If mailing your application of necessity, please send it to the department in charge of Science or Engineering fields by a Letter Pack Plus or a simple registered mail. Mailed application materials must reach us by the same application deadline.
Address labels below are available to print out and paste on.

Simple Registered Express Mail (called Kan'i-kakitome sokutatsu yubin) Prepare an A4 sized envelope. Paste the address label or write down on it. Put all the required application materials in it and seal it. Bring it to any post office and ask the correct amount of stamp and post it to arrive here before the application deadlines. (The amount of stamp is different according to the weight of the package.) Delivery status tracking is available with the code of receipt on the post office website.
Letter Pack Plus (Red type) You can buy the one at any post office or some convenience stores available. No stamp is needed. (The delivery charge is included in the price.) Paste the address label or write down on it. Fill out "Application Documents, Department of XX" in the item of "Contents Description". Put all the required application materials in it, seal it and then post it to arrive here before the application deadlines. Delivery status tracking is available with the code of the package on the post office website.

Past Exam Questions (Called Kako-mon)

Those for the last three years of master's programs, General Selection could be read at the office in charge. Taking a note by a writing utensil is available there though taking pictures is not allowed.
Or you can make photocopies on Nishi-Chiba Campus. (All the users must pay their own expenses.) Digitizing, taking pictures or others are not permitted.
You need to show us at the office your Student ID Card on that day.

However, those of doctoral program should not be provided.
