Research Students at the Graduate Level

If you hold a master’s or doctoral degree, plan to apply for the doctoral program to Chiba University, and are interested in enrollment as a non-degree research student called Kenkyusei, please open and read PDF file below for more information.

How to obtain the admission documents

1 Documents request at a counter
The admission documents are available at the "Student Affairs, Faculty of Science" or "Graduate Student Affairs Unit, Graduate School of Science and Engineering".
(8:30am ~ 5:00pm on weekdays)

2 Document request by postal mail
Applicants are requested to send the "Student Affairs, Faculty of Science" or "Graduate Student Affairs Unit, Graduate School of Science and Engineering" an envelope with "Request for Chiba University admission documents for AY2024" written in red on the front and your postal code, address, and name on the back. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope written your information, such as your name, address, and zip code.
If you are living outside Japan, please request your Academic Advisor or a representative to get the admission documents for AY2024 instead of you.

International applicants living in Japan:
Please be sure to prepare the Certificate of Residence (Juminhyo-no-Utsushi) included WITH NO DESCRIPTION OF “MY NUMBER” (Individual Number of the Social Security and Tax Number System) for submission.
