Some of the selections of the master's program require TOEFL/TOEIC score certificate for admission application. Incomplete application will not be accepted. Some departments might have specific submission due of the test score. Be sure to check the Admission Guidelines for details.
All applicants for those selections need to submit it even if they took courses at their home university were taught in English. That score must be added to the total scores of entrance exam.
It is not required for the doctoral program's application.
Test validity period for score submission

Master’s Program, General Selection for Oct. 2026 and Apr. 2027 Admissions
The official score certificate is valid as long as the test is taken during the period of June 2024 by the end of May 2026.
(However, for the applicants applying to the Department of Environmental Remote Sensing or of Imaging Sciences, it is valid as long as the test is taken in and after June 2024, and besides, it must be submitted in person at the time of taking oral interview for entrance examination in August 2026.)
Master’s Program, Privately Financed International Students Special Selection (in Science fields) for Apr. and Oct. 2027 Admissions
The official score certificate is valid as long as the test is taken during the period of Oct. 2024 by the end of Sep. 2026.

Test type available for score submission
At the time of application materials submission, submit an official and original score certificate or report of one of the followings, (1) or (2). And besides, please refer to The how of score submission below.

(1) TOEFL-iBT: Test Taker Score Report
Science fields
In addition to the Test Taker Score Report for TOEFL-iBT, those online test scores below are available for submission.
- TOEFL-iBT Special Home Edition
- TOEFL-iBT Home Edition
Engineering fields
The online test scores are NOT accepted for submission.
(2) TOEIC L＆R: Digital Official Score Certificate

Note
- However, those test scores such as TOEFL-ITP Level 1 and TOEIC L&R-IP are NOT accepted.
- Test Date Scores of TOEFL iBT is only valid for the admission application submission, not MyBest Score.
The how of score submission
One of the followings may be submitted at the time of application materials submission.
Submission of TOEFL Score Report
①Submit the "TOEFL iBT Test Taker Score Report" mailed by TOEFL
When applying, you must submit both the original document and a copy (A4 size).
②Direct submission via TOEFL Access
Please request the testing organization to send your score directly using the Institution Code "9154".
Print the PDF version of your "Test Taker Score Report".
Write the date you requested the direct submission in the upper right corner (year/month/day).
Include it together with your application materials when mailing them.
When you submit paper Digital Official Score Certificate of TOEIC L&R:
You may download from the official TOEIC website and print out, then submit us a sheet of paper（A4 size) of the one at the time of application materials submission.
Returning the submitted original TOEFL/TOEIC score sheet
The applicants who submitted the original Test Taker Score Report of TOEFL-iBT, for admission application, should receive the one as below. (However, the Digital Official Score Certificate of TOEIC L&R is not available.)
When submitting in person
The official and original score certificate or report will be returned you in person there, and then we will accept its photocopy, right after we check out the papers for admission application.
When submitting by mail
The official and original score certificate or report will be sent back you with the Admission Ticket stamped the application code after the application deadline in the same envelope by mail.
